Shortness of Breath
Shortness of breath, or dyspnoea, can result from a variety of underlying conditions, including asthma, COPD, or heart problems. It is vital for patients to recognise the severity and frequency of their symptoms, as well as any associated factors such as physical activity or environmental triggers. Consulting a pulmonologist can provide valuable insights into diagnosis and management options.

Cough
Chronic cough can be a symptom of respiratory diseases such as bronchitis, asthma, or lung infections. Educating patients about the characteristics of their cough—whether it is dry or productive, acute or chronic—can help healthcare providers identify its cause. A pulmonologist can conduct further investigations to determine the underlying issue and recommend appropriate treatment

Sleep Problems
Disorders such as obstructive sleep apnoea can significantly impact quality of life and overall health. Patients experiencing symptoms like loud snoring, excessive daytime sleepiness, or observed apnoea episodes should seek guidance on the importance of sleep hygiene and diagnostic testing, including polysomnography. A pulmonologist is equipped to assess and manage these sleep-related disorders effectively

Unintentional Weight loss
Unintentional weight loss can be concerning, particularly when associated with respiratory illnesses like lung cancer or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Educating patients about the potential implications of unexplained weight loss is crucial for timely intervention. A pulmonologist can help determine the cause and develop a comprehensive treatment plan to address both the weight loss and the underlying respiratory condition
